Crafty Conversations- Sketching your way to making art with Jill

This sketching session is about seeing the familiar in your way. Sketching isn’t about being “naturally talented” or creating something perfect—it’s about learning to observe, simplify, and express what’s in front of you. Many artists start with simple lines and basic shapes, just like we will today. Where is the light and shadow? How can you bring out the character of an ordinary object. 

With a few simple techniques—breaking objects into shapes, using light lines, and adding gentle shading—you’ll build confidence and start to trust your own creative instincts.

This workshop is a space to relax, experiment, and enjoy the process. There’s no right or wrong here—just progress, curiosity, and the quiet satisfaction of creating something with your own hands in the company of our creative friends.

By the end of our time together, you won’t just have a drawing—you’ll have a new way of looking at the world around you.
