Bookings

Bookings are essential for all courses and workshops to ensure we have the numbers for the courses to go ahead. Registration can be done on this website through the links under each course or by calling us at the centre.

For courses with a fee, enrolments are only confirmed upon fee payment .Our preferred method is online payment. Payment can be made to Westpac account 03 0481 0064864 28. Please use your surname and the name of the course ("CLAY") as a reference. Payment is due seven days prior to course commencement.

For other payment options please call us on (09) 425 7261 or 0800 2 DROPIN.

For those courses without a start date, please register your interest and we can contact you in advance of it being held.

Young Mum's Educational Programme - FREE

For mothers up to 24 years. Explore strategies for raising healthy, happy children. Childcare and morning tea provided.

Computer Skills: Powerpoint

Create great looking presentations and maximize the impact of your message. Use the many features of PowerPoint to make stunning slide show presentations and bring them alive with dynamic animation and zooming text. Add pictures, clipart, videos and music as well as your own commentary. Participants must have experience using a computer and a thorough knowledge of Word.

Computer Skills: Website Design Introduction

Website Design Introduction:  At the end of this course you will have made a simple website with pages, a menu, text, images, a gallery and links. Learn about pages, menus, landing pages, widgets, hosting services, URLs and more. A fully hosted, live student website is provided for you to work and practice on. Participants must provide their own laptop for this course. Other conditions apply. Please contact the centre for more details.

Harakeke/ Flax Weaving

Students are introduced to the customs (tikanga) around working with flax. We make a small item, usually a flower and then create a waikawa basket. This basket is made from the whole leafs and doesn’t take any preparation. Flax is provided.Run by an experienced local weaver with a love of working with flax.

Clay Workshop

After an introduction to the material and sculpting, explore 3D space while creating an indoor or outdoor ornament. Sculptures will be fired so they can be painted at a later date.
